Orphan Cry in Ukraine
Upon the urging of one of our Russian team members, who has family in Ukraine, we began projects there in 2016. The following is a short project overview:
Orphan Cry supports a project called "Meetings in Warm Colors" This project involves support for children and families who have lost loved ones in the war.
Orphan Cry supports a school for blind and visually impaired children in Ukraine. Here is a braille typesetter we provided being used by one of the students.
Orphan Cry also provided food service equipment reqested by the blind school director. The school prepares many meals three times each day for the students residing there.
Orphan Cry has assisted a volunteer group that makes soup (borscht) packets for refugees and others in need of food at or near the front lines.
By simply adding hot water, a person can have a hot, nutritious meal. The soup mixes are easy to store and transport to where needed most.
Another photo from a "Meetings in Warm Colors" event. Art projects are often used in concert with methods of helping children to cope with their loss.
Orphan Cry has assisted in providing first aid kits in Ukraine. All of the components are sourced in Ukraine, and the kits are compiled in Ukraine on a volunteer basis.
This helps control costs and greatly speeds up the process. The first aid kits are an important ongoing need.
We can always use your help for these and other projects in Ukraine, and appreciate any assistance.
